Prezi Project: Day 5; Term Quiz: Propaganda

This morning please take a few minutes (about 5) to study the different logical fallacies and propaganda terms from your notes and refresh your memory about Part One of Jennifer Government. We will then have a short quiz on these terms.

For the rest of class today, please prepare your prezi presentations for Wednesday, Oct. 15. If you finish early, please create note cards if you need them for your presentation, and rehearse your speech with a peer or friend who is also done.

You may also spend your time reading or writing if you have completed your Prezi presentation!

HOMEWORK: Please read Part Two: Jennifer Government. Get caught up if you have not read part one. There is no school on Monday.

"How it Feels to Be Colored Me" is an essay by  Zora Neale Hurston . Take a moment to read a bit of information about Zora Neale Hurston, then we'll read the essay in class. Look closely at how the article opens (the hook, lead-in, thesis), and how it develops (the body, topic sentences, argument), and notice the sentence structure (length, diction, syntax). Create a slide or two where you discuss/list who are the major gods/goddesses in your chosen mythology and what they represent You should know the creation myth that goes with that tradition.
