Choose a manga. Read it. Report next class about the story, plots, characters, themes, or any other formalist or literary element found in the book. Write a 1 page description of the book. Include your own opinion about the story and your reading experience. What elements seemed foreign or odd to you? Feel free to comment on the drawing or artistic style as well. Be prepared to share this information with the class. You should also form an opinion about Manga and be able to express this to the class - why do you think it is popular? What audiences does Manga seem to reach? Do you feel you are the target audience, why or why not? How might manga influence your own life?
