The forum wouldn't show my post because it said it was spam but here's what I wrote...
I think the idea of jennifer government is very creative. Creating a society were your job means everything to the point where its even your last name. it's like in our society when our names also depicted our occupation such as "shoemaker". And those in the book without a last name are looked down upon because of they're unemployed. I liked the way the book created an over exaggerated version of our world with it's satirical technique. For example, having the Nike company release the expensive mercury sneakers and then having someone kill some of the buyers to serve as a marketing strategy. This actually happens in our society but we like to believe that Nike isn't thee one who put the hit out on these people. When Nike comes out with a new shoe many teenagers just have to have it and some go to extreme measures to get them such as jumping someone who's wearing them or stealing them from someone's locker. Money basically rules our society and I think this is something Jennifer Government was trying to point out. Along with money comes power so in a world without a guiding force to help distribute wealt, who's going to control this almighty power that will soon emerge?

The novel Jennifer Government was very creative in my opinion. It was successful in displaying a satirical version of our society. The more exaggerated version of our society is highly based around wealth and the pursuit of it. your job consumes your life and it even is displayed as your last name. People are so greedy for money that the Nike company devised a marketing strategy to kill anybody who purchased the new Mercury sneakers to increase the sneakers popularity. This would not necessarily happen in our world today but people are fought and killed over money (which is used mostly to buy sneakers and other apparel). I think this society is a good example of what our world could become if it keeps spiraling more and more out of control.
