Research Islam & Project Work

Please research Islam and begin a list of notes (with internet addresses for sites) where you gather some facts about Islam, the religion, and its culture. Fill the paper appropriately for full credit with your research notes and then turn in at the end of class for credit.

In the library lab, please use your time wisely (yes, you know who you are who don't actually use your time wisely--and so do I) to complete the following assignments (there's a lot to do people):

1. Work on your pop culture project
2. Complete and type your ghazal
3. Work on revision of your portfolio
4. Work on a reaction/creative response to Islam, Pakistan, Kashmere, or Afghanistan
5. Complete your zombie project

HOMEWORK: Please finish reading Act III of Kabul if you haven't done so already.

Wilderness Tips - Examination & Analysis

Use period one to continue the story draft you started last class. Use your time to develop your ideas, theme, work on plot, character development, setting, and other aspects of your fiction writing. Remember, your story should include the following: Write a draft that includes a flashback . Consider an urban setting, but at some point in your story, move to a more natural setting. The setting should reflect the inner conflicts of your protagonist if possible. Avoid character cliches: surprise your reader (and possibly yourself or even your character) Include a secondary character who should act as a foil to the protagonist. Write in present tense ; (flashbacks can be written in past tense); Use 3rd person POV (limited, omniscient, objective). See the previous post for more details.
